"Drop the Last Stone," hosted by °µÍø³Ô¹Ï in Spring 2025, was created by Massachusetts-based artists Paula Rendino and C.M. Judge.
The Art Gallery at °µÍø³Ô¹Ï presents exhibitions that complement and enhance the University’s academic offerings. Exhibitions, receptions and other accompanying events are free and open to the public.
PAIRINGS is inspired by a long-time estimate, from museum sources, that the average time spent looking at a single artwork is thirty seconds. In response, The Art Gallery is experimenting with showing only two-at-a-time: twosomes presented as deliberate but not necessarily obvious pairs.
There are many legitimate reasons, including visual overload, why the typical viewer dashes through art exhibitions, but by segmenting a total offering, spreading it out over time, and providing significant written commentary for reflection, we hope to foster deeper understanding and appreciation.
